Ice Climbing

Climbing a frozen waterfall is a truly rewarding experience that will inspire and entice as you move upward, balanced on crampons and ice tools.  Join us for one of our many ice climbing clinics at spots all over Colorado.

Intermediate Ice Climbing:  05:30 - 17:00

Join us at Lincoln Falls on a Friday to avoid the crowds!  This amazing frozen waterfall is at the base of Mount Lincoln near Hoosier Pass. Come test your skills on vertical single and multi-pitch ice curtains. 

Time: 0530-1700

Dates: November 20 / January 15, 24 / February 5 

Cost: $50

 

Ice and Snow Anchor Clinic:

Learn the skills necessary to keep you safe while climbing in an alpine environment. Skills introduced and practiced include: decision making, use of snow flukes, ice screws, pickets, deadmans, the use of multiple anchorsand quick belays to name a few.  If high alpine environments are your goal,this is the class for you!

Time: 0530-1700

Cost: $50

 

Multi-Pitch Ice Climbing: 

Take your ice climbing to new heights! Learn similar skills covered in the multi-pitch rock course, and all the specifics associated with traveling in a winterized environment.

Time: 0530-1700

Dates: Come down to the office and schedule a day that works for you.

Cost: $100 for individuals / $60 per person of group of two or thee

 

Ouray Ice Climbing Weekend:   Fri. 06:00 - Sun. 19:00

Located in the Uncompahgre Gorge in Ouray, Colorado, the Ouray Ice Park was the world's first park devoted exclusively to the sport of ice climbing. Join the APE guides for a weekend of world-class ice climbing, while staying in the town of Ouray digesting all this unique mountain town has to offer. A trip you won't soon forget!

Time: Fri 0600 - Sun 1900

Dates: February 26-28

Cost:  $200

  

Beginner Ice Climbing:   07:00 - 15:00

Climbing a frozen waterfall is a truly unique and rewarding experience that will inspire and entice as you move upward, balanced on crampons and ice tools.  Throughout the day you will learn basic movements and techniques of climbing ice. 

Time: 0700-1500

Dates: December 19, 24 / January 10, 16 / February 7, 20 / March 6

Cost: $45
