Garcia Physical Fitness Center has been providing quality programs & services on Fort Carson for over 30 years.  We hope to give you information about our amenities, our services, staff and provide you with information on how to contact us as well.

Whatever you're looking for in a health and fitness regimen, you'll find it here. Our fitness facility combines a basic range of fitness and exercise equipment and facilities with personal trainers, who are can design personally tailored programs for you to meet your goals.  Our facility also provides a friendly, motivating and energizing environment for your physical activities.  Garcia Physical Fitness Center is equipped with a regulation-size collegiate basketball court, two racquetball courts, a cardiovascular room, and strength room with new Hammer Strength equipment and free weights.

The cardio room features state-of-the-art equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, summit trainers, step mills, recumbent, upright, and spin bikes. Cardio Theatre is provided on cardio equipment for personal enjoyment on six different televisions.  We are also happy to offer coed sauna, day lockers, showers, whirlpool vending machines, cable & cardio theatre.  Our trained professionals are on hand to guide and support you. If a class atmosphere works for you, we offer regularly scheduled fitness and exercise programs.

Gymnasium reservation: Garcia Physical Fitness Center Space Rentals

1. ID card holders, may rent space within the Garcia Physical Fitness Center to conduct change of command ceremonies, sports & fitness activities.

2. Requests to reserve space must be made anywhere between ten (10) and thirty (30) days in advance depending upon the nature and scope of the activity and the particular space desired.  Requests are accepted in the attached memorandum format ONLY.  Please contact facility manager, Amber Zurita for more information

3. Requests will be acknowledged via e-mail within 24 hours of receipt and will be approved or denied within 48-72 hours of receipt.  Mission essential reservations take precedence over all others and there is a possibility that your event can get cancelled.  Please call the front desk at 719.526.3944 to verify your reservation.

GARCIA PHYSICAL FITNESS CENTER
BASKETBALL COURT RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. DFMWR conducted programs have priority over all other uses.
2. Use of the court is on a first come first served basis except as provided in Rule # 1.
3. For safety reasons, workout t-shirt that completely covers the mid-section, and shorts/sweatpants are required at all times. All persons using the court shall wear rubber soled, non-marking, HAND CARRIED athletic shoes.
4. No food, gum or liquids are to be brought on the courts except water in a plastic re-sealable container.
5. Slam dunking is prohibited.
6. Profanity, suggestive language, and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
7. When others are waiting:
     a.  Winning teams may stay on the court for no more than two consecutive games if others are waiting.
     b. Only half court basketball games are allowed.
     c. Warming up before a game must not exceed five (5) minutes.
     d. Only one (1) game may be played for a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, after which the court must be relinquished.
     e. Waiting players must remain in person at the court.
8.   Non-traditional gymnasium equipment must be approved by the facility manager.
9.  Book bags, gym bags, and other personal belongings are prohibited on and around the courts and must be stored in a locker.

 Other Requirements / Guidelines / Policies for Use of Space

Orientation: All primary point of contact renters of space must conduct an orientation / walk-through with Garcia PFC staff. The purpose of the walk-through is to familiarize the renter with the facility, location of emergency exits, restrooms.  The walk-through should occur within 48 hours of the event.
Cleaning: Rooms and/or spaces should be left in the same condition as they were found prior to the event.  The unit will provide a 6-10 person detail for set up (laying mats down, bleachers pulled out) and tear down.  After the event is completed, the detail will be responsible for policing and cleaning of the bathrooms, gym/court  floor to include sweeping, mopping, folding and storing of the floor mats.
