School Liaison Services offers parents the following:

  • Provides parents moving to Fort Carson information on all schools serving the installation, both on- and off-post
  • Provides transition information on leaving one school district to enter a new school; as well as transitions between elementary and middle school, and middle and high school
  • Provides youth sponsorship, youth sponsor training, youth sponsorship council, arrival / departure activities, and e-mail capability
  • Home school programming and support group
  • Youth School Council
  • PCS and grade advancement transition assistance
  • Post-secondary education preparation information

Any changes in Outreach Benefits will be given to your Family Readiness Support Assistant (FRSA).  The information provided below is current as 18 December 2007.  Army Family Covenant Benefits are subject to change.

Caring Days (deployed status only): Spouses of deployed soldiers receive 16 free hours of respite care, per child, per month. This free child care is available from noon – 7 p.m., Caring Saturdays care will be provided at the East Child Development Center (Building 6058.) Caring Daily will be provided at the Southwest Center, (Building 7790) from 7:30 a.m. -7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Care is provided in four –hour time block.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling 524-4218 not later than 3 p.m. the Wednesday prior to each Caring Day.

FRG Childcare Support is offered at the East Child Development Center (Building 6058) or during the day at the Southwest Child Development Center (Building 7790) for pre-deployment, deployment, and reunion meetings. Reservations are required, and may be made through your unit FRG liaison.

Reunion Care: Sixteen hours per child of Reintegration (Reunion) Care is offered for each 30 day period for 60 days after the last boot arrives by plane on the Installation.  Choices for care are from 6 – 11 p.m. for Friday (“Date Night”) at the East Child Development Center.  Day Time Reunion Care is provided at the Southwest Child Development Center (Building 7790). Reservations are required and can be made by calling 524-4218.

SKIESUnlimited Classes-Children of a deployed parent ages 3-18 years is eligible of four (4) or two (2) instructional courses at no cost for up to eight weeks per course.  Children can only be enrolled in one (1) course during the course session.  You must be registered in CYS Services to receive this fee elimination.  Please check your CYS Services fact sheet for your benefits.

CYS Services Sports- During the deployment your child will receive a waiver of fees for one (1) or two (2) CYS Services team or individual sports per child/youth.  The CYS Services Sports programs are for children and youth ages 3-18 years.  You must be registered in CYS Services to receive this fee elimination.  Please check your CYS Services fact sheet for your benefits.

Youth Shuttle service on Post-Transportation is provided on post by the youth shuttle for youth in grades 6th – 12th in all housing areas.  A schedule, times, and bus stop information is available at the Youth Center, Building 5950, located on Ware.

 Please note:  Parents using any deployment care or program option must complete the entire CYS Services registration process to receive the benefit.

Parents of infants and toddlers must provide an adequate supply of diapers, pre-filled bottles, empty Sippy cups, and a change of clothes for their child. All meals and snacks are provided by CYS Services at no additional charge.

At the time of sign-in, the parent must provide an emergency contact number and inform the attending CYS Services staff member of any allergies or special needs.

Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood is now available in El Paso and Pueblo Counties.  The US Army sponsors this Community Based Care option in our area because of the high demand for childcare.   Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood is a supplement to, not a substitute for Army Operated Child Care. Care is made available by local child care programs and home providers who are part of an Army sponsored off-post delivery system, administered and monitored by the nonprofit National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA).  For more information, call Child Care Connections in Colorado Springs at 638-2057.  For more information in Pueblo, call Children First, 719-549-3407.

Army School Age Programs in Your Neighborhood provides Army sponsored off-post School Age Care as a supplement to, not a substitute for, Army Operated on-post School Age Care.  Army School Age Programs in Your Neighborhood is a collaborative effort between the United States Army, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA).  For more information in Colorado Springs, call 570-7077, extension 108.  Army School Age Programs in Your Neighborhood is also available in Pueblo.  Please call the Pueblo Boys and Girls Club call 719-266-0405 for information.
