Calhan is a growing community 34 miles east of Colorado Springs on highway 24.  The School District covers 225 square miles and serves over 720 students in grades Pre-K-12, including Frontier Charter Academy.  Calhan operates on a four-day school week, (generally Tuesday-Friday) with 155 student contact days.  The school day is from 8:00 – 4:00.  A full curriculum is offered with a K-12 enrichment program based on an Autonomous Learner Model.
