Get on the Bus Ski & Snowboard Trips: New for 2013-14 ski season, we’re collaborating with the Air Force Academy to bring you more choices, more dates, and more resorts to ski-your-pants-off this winter. With a central meeting point in town, great prices, safe drivers, and plenty of options, there’s even less reason to drive yourself. So, Get-On-The-Bus!

Monarch, Ski Cooper, and Loveland Adult: $65 for Lift ticket and Transportation
Monarch Teen, ages 13-18 Price $60

Climbing Wall Instruction:
This introductory class will cover knots, belay techniques and climbing communication. After completion, you will be certified to climb the indoor climbing wall located at the Outdoor Recreation Center, and be ready to move on with our rock climbing series.
Dates: Every Tuesday (Iron Horse Gym) and Thursday Evening (ODR); except holidays
Time: 1730 – 1930
Beginner Ice Climbing:
(Recommended Prerequisite: Climbing wall instruction)
Climbing a frozen waterfall is a truly unique and rewarding experience that will inspire and entice as you move upward while balancing on crampons and ice tools. Throughout the day you will learn basic movements and techniques of climbing ice.
Dates: Mar. 8
Time: 0730 – 1500
Intermediate Ice Climbing:
Join us at Lincoln Falls on a Friday to avoid the crowds! This amazing frozen waterfall is at the base of Mount Lincoln near Hoosier Pass. Come test your skills on vertical single and multi-pitch ice curtains.
Dates: Mar. 21
Time: 0600 – 1700
Mountaineering Weekend Trip: (Recommended Prerequisite: On Belay)
Learn basic mountaineering skills such as self-arrest, use of pickets and flukes, and traveling over snow with crampons and an ice axe. The goal of the course is to put these skills to the test on an ascent of a moderately steep snow or mixed route. Come enjoy the freedom of the hills!
Dates: 18th-20th April Leaving at 0630 on Friday, and returning 2000 on Sunday.
Pre Trip meeting at 1800 on 4 April
Cost: $225 – price includes all technical equipment, 2 lunches and 1 breakfast

Winter Youth Adventure Camp:
Off from school? Don’t get stuck at home, come have some fun in the snow for three days. We will ski/snowboard at a resort, ice climb, and snowshoe all over the great state of Colorado. Sign up early as this program fills every year!

Easter Egg Wall Crawl: Ages 5 to 12
Let your little bunnies climb the outdoor climbing wall in search of hidden eggs. This vertical egg hunt is sure to make everyone extra “hoppy!” Please pre-register by calling 526-5366 or stop by the Outdoor Recreation Complex, Bldg. 2429.

Crested Butte Ski Weekend Trip:
Join us on this amazing trip and find out why people come from all over the world to ski CB. Trip includes: 2 nights lodging at the Grand Lodge, 2 days skiing/snowboarding at CB, 2 breakfasts, and round trip transportation. We will leave Friday night and be back late Sunday.
Join us and see why people normally pay $85 dollars a day just to ski here.

Time: Fri. 1700 – Sun. 20:00
Cost: $200 for 1st & 2nd per person , $100 for 3rd & 4th person per room.
Snowshoeing allows you to experience the solitude and serenity of our Colorado wilderness. You will learn tips and techniques for traveling on snowshoes efficiently and have many opportunities for those “Kodak Moments”.
Dates: Mar. 8,
Time: 0700 – 1600
Cost: $30 with snowshoe rental / $25 w/o snowshoe rental
Experience an “age old” style of traveling in a winter environment. Join us for a day in the Rocky Mountains while learning the basics of cross-country skiing. Our instructors will provide you with transportation and instruction.
Dates: Mar. 23.
Time: 0700 – 1600
Cost: $30 with ski rental / $25 w/o ski rental
Backcountry Skiing & Snowboarding
So you want to ride in powder and you’re sick of the crowds and lift lines at resorts? Come learn the skills necessary to travel in the backcountry while experiencing the solitude and freedom of the hills, which makes backcountry skiing/snowboarding so unique. First day is an evening classroom session. The second day is out on the snow.
Dates: Mar. 14-15th 2014
Time: Fri. 1730-20:00, Sat. 0600-2000
Cost: $70 without equipment rental, $85 with equipment rental

Learn to Ski/Snowboard Trip:
Always wanted to learn how to ski or snowboard join us for a day up at Monarch Ski area and get a half day lesson from a professional instructor. Your lesson will be in the morning then you can work on your new skills all afternoon. Getting a lesson from a professional rather than your “buddy” will increase your learning curve, making the snowy steeps an enjoyable experience for you.
Dates: Any Trip to Monarch Ski Area

Cost: An addition of $62 for a lesson (ages 7 & up)
